Welcome to the East Coast Iron Club (ECIC) web site!
ECIC is an annual meeting for iron researchers and individuals interested in iron metabolism. Since 1975, ECIC has met every year at various locations on the East Coast (see History). This one-day meeting is based on lively discussion and exchange of ideas and data. As an informal meeting, there are no slides, overheads, etc. All shared data are considered confidential. Post-doctoral research fellows and graduate students are encouraged to attend.
The 2009 meeting of the East Coast Iron Club will be held Friday, November 6th, (10 am – 4 pm) at the New York Blood Center (NYBC), located in Manhattan. Dr. Yelena Ginzburg of the NYBC will serve as local host.

Please contact the chair of ECIC, Mitch Knutson (mknutson@ufl.edu), if you plan on attending, and if you would be interested in chairing a session on a particular iron-related topic.
